I don't understand the politics, viewership, and money of television.
I just watched the final episode of season one of "Legend of the Seeker" while the acting and writing got better than the rest, it was still pretty bad, great action and magic effects, but a bad show. The episode was such a let down, and the big bad guy was defeated, but I felt nothing. It was really dumb.
"Legend of the Seeker" was renewed, however, with a full 22 episode order.
meanwhile, "Kings" which is having it's finale this saturday, did not get renewed. They say it's for budgetary reason. My insider at NBC tells me it's for political reasons.
"Kings" had much higher viewership than "Legend of the Seeker," however, since it is on NBC and the the CW, it got canceled.
CW would be thrilled with the numbers from "Kings" but NBC is not.
uggg, it's such a great show, and it will end with a cliffhanger. . . |

just watched "Match Point"
Now I am a big fan of Scarlet, I think John Rhyse Myers is pretty good, and the term "hitchcockian flair" is always a good one in my ear.
But i'm much confused by this flick. The cinematography was very strange. Shots moving around a room while you only hear one couple talking, and then the camera settles on the couple just as they finish their conversation, for one. But by the end of the film, the filming becomes very normal.
The acting was also hit and miss throughout the film. I'm thinking this has to be a direction problem. It seemed to be stylized at the beginning, but then it fell apart.
Scarlet is sexy, the story is very "strangers on a train"ish, and England looks beautiful.
other than that, i'm not sure how I feel about this flick. |

My GM told me that, out of everyone, he thought I had potential to be a "great server."
A part of me died when he told me that.
I really wish school/society hadn't taught us that we are "special" and that we should "follow our dreams" I may actually be happy in mediocrity and carrying the status quo, instead of feeling lost and depressed.
Will I always hate my job? is this why the majority of Americans get drunk as often as they do? I had no reason to assume that acting would be a satisfying job, other than the fact that I really enjoy doing it even when not getting paid. Other than that, who knows? Maybe if I actually had a steady acting job, I would be just as unsatisfied as I am with everything else.
probably not
fucking a
I'll never be able to live up to my childhood, and if I ever have children, at this rate I will never be able to give them the quality childhood that I had. Sorry kids, your dad is jaded by the system and is wondering why he allowed you to be brought into such a shithole of a planet. Things are really good when they are good, but the good things always pass into a big pile of mediocrity. |

I got to meet Warwick Davis tonight.
He at at Morton's. The LPA (Little People of America) are having a convention at the Mariot next door. I asked him if he was who he was, and then we took pictures to put him on the wall of fame.
I have to find a way to scan these pics.
He's smaller than I expected, but man he was awesome. Very nice guy. He also has an extremely cute son. |

Transformers 2
summer popcorn fucking awesome fun flick
I had a huge grin on my face the whole time, the muscle on my face are sore from geeking out the entire movie.
yeah, some little plot holes, but that has a tendency to happen in big summer blockbusters, not a huge deal in the end.
So many robots! so many robot fights! and a really cool idea for how ancient the autobot race is.
Optimus Prime got to be a real badass in this one, Decepticons going down like little bitches. Bumblebee got some action as well, so that was sweet!
Very fun! Everything I expected. |

I just watched FANBOYS. I scored a copy of for my bday, it only aired in theaters for 1 week in NYC. It was fantastic. So so so funny. I'm really surprised it they pulled it from theaters. My only disappointment is that this movie was already made, and I could not be in it. |

Glee may have single handedly reinvigorated my love for musical theatre. Man that was good stuff. I wonder if Fox will air a full season when it begins for real in the fall. Also, why the hell do I have to wait till the fall damn it!
Well, since the Cast Recording of "Don't Stop Believing" is #3 on iTunes, I think they show had some appeal to a wide audience, and has multiple marketing venues for profit, so FOX should like that. Give me at least one full season! |

damn you Edwin!
I've been looking for Team Zissou apparel. I've found the hat and the shoes, I know I can find the pants, but the shirt is non-existant.
I've been asking for costumers to see if they can modify store bought shirt into that shirt for a reasonable price.
damn it |

I can't decide what i want to be for my "Half-o-ween" birthday party. I was thinking the Green Arrow, but i think that would be pricey, and saving money is a big part of this costume.
Maybe i'll be Clark Kent, get a superman t-shirt, wear it under a suit, pull the shirt apart to reveal the "S". . .but Tommy could do that, since I first heard the idea from him.
something that I can grill in comfortably and is not to warm would be good. What suggestions do you have? |

world of warcraft: the addiction continues. Today I got to play a lot with Thomas and friends, that's my favorite part of this game, playing with people I actually know. and being in big raid groups, man that's cool. I've been getting tired of soloing all the time.
may be playing Star Wars RPG tomorrow, but i havn't heard back from tommy.
Yeah, I'm nerding it up like crazy.
Jess bought Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door for the game cube and has been playing it all day, while i've been warcrafting, it's been a good day. plus it was raining really hard all day, so what else were we going to do. We probably should have caught up on LOST, we'll do that later.. . . |

Engineer: Aren't you to young to be a roller coaster designer? Phineas: Yes, yes I am. Engineer: . . .Well, I must say I'm very impressed.
I love this TV show! If you aren't watching Phineas & Ferb on the Disney Chanel, or Disney XD, then you are missing out on some great cartoon comedy.
The creators of the show met while working on the Simpsons, then were writers for Rocco's Modern Life, then they came up with this idea, but it didn't sell. They both went to work on other things, most notably Family Guy. So their resumes should impress you. Also the concept is in homage to Tex Avery, so if you love old school Looney Toons, then you will enjoy this also. man it's funny |

saw Fast & Fouriest tonight
it was the fouriest movie ever!!
The best part may have been the preview for "9" which i've already seen before, but damn that looks awesome.
At one point in time Vin Diesel kills a guy with a car, and I lost it, I started laughing very hard in the theater, and then many others joined me.
Why didn't the guy dive out of the way? Paul Walker was laying on the ground holding onto the guy's jeans.
yep
the Fast and the Furious was an alright summer flick with a whole lot of fun and some badass races and whatnot going on.
Fast and Furious (or fouriest as i'm calling it) had a lot of CGI elements which didn't look very clean thus taking you out of the action, a shit ton of terrible acting, and even worse writing.
As the movie went on Tommy and I would make speculation about the unanswered plot lines, our ideas were pretty good, but of course this flick went with the easiest and lamest ways to settle plot instead of being interesting.
If you want summer fun a little early, check it out, it does have some fun moments, but damn, that was a bad movie.
Thank God for muscle cars though, they are awesome!
oh yeah, and Vin Diesel is pretty much a monster throughout the movie, beating people, tossing them out windows, generally being dark and badass. He was a good part of the movie, but he's really the only competent actor in the cast as well. (Saving Private Ryan i'm looking at you) |

The Biblical similarities continue on NBC's awesome new show "Kings"
I was amused by this one:
A patron makes of donation of $100k to sit next to David, and the Queen comments that to sit next to the King takes only a $10k donation. She then says "Silas brings his thousands, and David brings his hundreds of thousands."
our Bibilcal source:
"Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands." 1 Samuel 29:5
Great show, if you arn't watching this, you should be |
